Leak detection
A higher-than-usual water bill, a damp patch on a wall, a meter that ticks over with every tap off, or the sound of running water are all signs of a hidden leak.
How we find it
- Thermal imaging shows temperature differences behind walls and under floors.
- Acoustic listening equipment hears water escaping from buried pipes.
- Pressure testing isolates which part of the system is leaking.
- Moisture meters confirm damp areas.
Leak detection costs from $390. Most leaks are found in under two hours, and we repair them on the same visit where possible.
Check for a leak yourself
- Turn off every tap and appliance that uses water.
- Read the water meter, wait 30 minutes, and read it again.
- If the reading has changed, you probably have a leak.
Insurance
Many home insurance policies cover the cost of finding a leak and the resulting damage, but not the pipe repair itself. We provide a written report with photos for your insurer.
Leaking shower?
A shower that leaks into the next room or under the floor usually has a failed waterproofing membrane or grout. We can confirm the cause and quote to fix it.
