Frequently asked questions
Do you charge for quotes?
Quotes for renovations, hot water replacements and new gas appliances are free. For repairs we charge the standard call-out fee, which includes the first 30 minutes of work. That's usually enough to diagnose and often to fix the problem.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For fixed-price jobs, yes. See our prices. For other jobs we can give a range over the phone and confirm a fixed price on site.
Are your plumbers licensed?
Yes. Every plumber is licensed or registered with the Victorian Building Authority for the work they do, and we're insured for $20 million public liability.
Do I need to be home?
Someone over 18 needs to be home to let us in, unless we've arranged access with your property manager or a key safe.
I rent my home. Who pays?
Repairs are usually the landlord's responsibility. Contact your property manager first. We work with most local agencies and can invoice them directly. For urgent repairs you can't reach them about, Victorian rules allow tenants to arrange urgent repairs up to a set amount; keep your invoice.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. Saturday 8am–1pm at business-hours rates, and 24/7 for emergencies at after-hours rates.
How long does a hot water replacement take?
Usually 2–4 hours, on the same day for most gas and electric storage systems. Heat pumps can take a little longer.
Do you do roofing or gutters?
We repair roof leaks around flues and downpipes and fix stormwater drains, but we don't do gutter cleaning or roof restoration.
Do you offer finance?
No, but jobs over $1,500 can be paid as a 30% deposit and the balance on completion.
What's your cancellation policy?
Free up to 2 hours before your arrival window; $79 after that.
